I’ve been thinking about QUITTING for over a month.
It takes a lot of effort to move past fears and climb a monumental mountain. And it seems so much easier to quit.
Why not be an epic failure?
Then I can stay at home and lament about how I tried but didn’t succeed.
But some things might take a decade or two before you ever really approach Mt. Everest.
It would be so much easier if I didn’t even try.
Or if I just stopped climbing the mountain and took an insanely long nap.
Ever feel that way?
Or does everything just come super easy to you?
If so, I want to hang out with you & pick your brain.
You are either avoiding growing pains or you have the world’s best luck.
For the rest of us, it’s not always an easy path up the massive mountain.
I have certainly gone down the wrong path. Been bitten by a bunch of pesky bugs. And hit my fair share of thunderstorms.
When the going gets tough, sometimes I think about how Martin Luther King, Jr. must have felt some days as he pushed for huge changes along with Susan B. Anthony, Mahatma Gandhi, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
And so I remind myself that some things are worth spending years trying to achieve. Or decades. Or a lifetime.
What to do when you feel like quitting?
- Take a break. Relax. Go do something fun.
- Find a way to improve your life today.
- Listen (or read) something inspirational.
- Study a person who has overcome obstacles in life. (Someone you admire.)
- Build a stronger support network around you. (Research shows that having a solid support system helps you to live a longer and happier life.)
Are you willing to stick through the storms, the rocky obstacles, and the treacherous ledges?
