Have you noticed how healing nature is? From the sounds of birds to the gentle rustle of leaves, spending 20 minutes outdoors can feel rejuvenating. I love feeling the sun on my face, wandering through the woods, or listening to the rhythmic crashing of ocean waves. Nature is incredibly grounding.
In the UK, healthcare providers sometimes prescribe nature-based activities — such as gardening, nature walks, and outdoor exercises — to support mental health. Participants in these programs have reported reduced anxiety and an increased life satisfaction. (Here’s an article from the Guardian if you want to learn more.)
What about you? Do you feel the healing power of nature in your own life? Are you carving out time each day to step outside?
A few years ago, I began recording sounds from the natural world — soothing, alive, and immersive. Now, I’m sharing some of these recordings with you. Whether you’re indoors or simply need a quick escape, these live recordings bring the outdoors to your senses:
Atlantic Ocean Sounds (2 min)
At The Bottom Of A Waterfall (10 min)
By the Colorado Creek (1 min)
Little River In Forest (5 min)
New Hampshire River (6 min)
Rhode Island Ocean Sounds (12 min)
River & Thunder Sounds (6 min)
Tidal Pool In New England (9 min)
Waves Crashing On Rocks (9 min)
Let these sounds ground you. Let them remind you that you’re connected to something ancient, wild, and wise.
