You know how you have those moments where you don’t feel loved? They can hit you at the most stunning moment and knock you for a loop, especially during different holidays.
We all struggle with this at times. And we need to feel loved. It’s part of the human experience.
A while ago, I came across a line from the mystic poet Rumi:
Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
And it gave me an idea for how to heal the moments of feeling unloved.
There are two ways that I use this Release The Barriers To Love technique.
- I sit in meditation (or sometimes walk) and let my body release whatever barriers are, however it manifests itself. It’s feels like pockets of energy moving off my body at times, as if I am shedding a skin.
- The other strategy I use is to repeat a mantra (in my head): “I release the barriers to love.” Often I will combine this with meditation. This helps my mind focus if thoughts are trying to jump into the moment. And I can let go of trying to struggle with myself.
Inevitably I feel better when I employ this tool.
We are all beings of light and love. But at times we get stuck and out of sorts and forget this. So by using these techniques I let go of what does not serve me and I move closer to love.
